Overview
The Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is Asia’s largest rose garden, spread across nearly 30 acres in Sector 16. Established in 1967 and named after India’s former President, it features more than 1,500 varieties of roses along with landscaped lawns and decorative fountains. During peak blooming season, especially in February and March, the garden becomes a vibrant display of colors and fragrances. The annual Rose Festival draws visitors with cultural performances, competitions, and exhibitions that celebrate horticulture and community spirit. Beyond its beauty, the garden highlights Chandigarh’s emphasis on green spaces within its structured layout. It offers a peaceful environment for morning walks, photography, and relaxation, making it a favorite spot for both residents and tourists throughout the year.
